What do you see as your biggest strength in VMA?
One of the most critical strengths for success in VMA is technical skills in the Woodshop. Having a strong knowledge of woodworking tools and techniques is essential to creating high-quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products. In addition to technical skills, attention to detail is another essential strength for success in the VMA Woodshop. As with any form of woodworking, precision and accuracy are crucial, and the ability to spot mistakes quickly can save time and resources in the long run. Communication skills are also crucial in VMA Woodshop. Woodworkers must be able to communicate their ideas effectively to team members, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards a shared vision.
What is one thing you achieved in the last 2 school years that you will remember for the rest of your life?
I will remember my Woodshop professor Scott for the rest of my life because I am so thankful to him. he is kind and taught me a lot of knowledge. Such a positive memory of my Woodshop professor! he is a teacher and mentor who are kind and supportive and who can inspire me to learn and grow. My professor Scott made a significant impact on my life by teaching me valuable knowledge and skills. Having a teacher who can guide and support us can be invaluable in our personal and professional development. I want to thank him for all that he has done for me.
What is one way you surprised yourself this year?
I was surprised by the growing focus on sustainability in my visual merchandising displays. It includes the use of recycled materials and more eco-friendly design elements. And I create unique and engaging experiences for the Sheridan Pop-Up shop in Square One—a great way to showcase my creativity and design skills.
What was a hard lesson you learned through your time in VMA?
One of the hard lessons I learned through time in VMA is the importance of Attention to detail. In this field, even the slightest mistake can significantly impact the overall display or presentation. Whether it's a typo in a sign or a misplaced product, these small details can detract from the intended effect of the display. Therefore, VMA requires a great deal of precision and meticulousness. It's essential to triple-check every detail and ensure that everything is in its proper place. This can be a challenging lesson, but it's crucial to success in the field.
Is there a specific job you hope to get after graduation?
After graduating, you will consider being a visual merchandiser, event planner, set designer or display artist.
Photo styling
The style and theme of the perfume campaign, setting up the set, and props prior to the photo shoot. Angles and shooting styles during the shoot to achieve the best results.
